Weird And Fun Frog Facts

1. Do you know that frogs shed their skin periodically?  They eat the skin as they shed it.
2. The collective noun of a  group of frogs is called an army.
3. Frogs do not drink water.  They absorb water through their skins.  That’s their way of drinking water.
4. Only the male frogs croak or make sounds.
5. Not all male frogs croak.  Some chirp, whistle or make some weird sounds.
6. They do not just breathe through their nostrils.  They also breathe through their skins!
7. Can you imagine sleeping with your eyes opened?  The frogs sleep that way!
8. Frog symbols are considered lucky in Japan and with the Chinese in Fengshui.
9. Frogs cannot live in salt water or the sea.  They only live n fresh water.
10. They cannot see colors.  They only see in black and white like all other amphibians.
11. They do not chew their food.  They swallow it whole.
12. The glass frog has skin that you can see through!  You can see the bones, muscles and its internal organs.
13. How do you know the age of the frog? Look inside its bones.  Count the layers and that is its age. When it hibernates, the bones grow a layer.
14. How do we know if its a boy or a girl?  Look at its ears.  It behind the eyes.  If the ears are as big as the eyes, it is a boy.  It is a girl if the eyes are smaller than the ears.
